Members of the Bridge City Friends Meeting community live on lands that were the historic home to Native nations including Molallas in Clackamas County, the Tualatin Kalapuya in Washington County, and Chinookan-speaking peoples along the lower Willamette and Columbia Rivers including Multnomah, Clatskanie, Clowwewala, and Cascades Watlala groups. Euro-American resettlers forced these Native peoples from their homelands and attempted to undermine their culture. Our Meeting community continues to benefit from this land theft today.
