UPDATE 5/8/23: Registration is Now Closed

The theme for the gathering is Reemergence. Camp Arrah Wanna occupies a beautiful forested site along the Salmon River near Welches Oregon. The registration period (online) begins on April 1. The camp provides all meals. The cost to attend is “pay as lead” with everyone encouraged to come, regardless of their means.  Contact Cynthia Black (cynblack55@gmail.com) by May 1st if you can help with supervising/leading Juniors Friends, Central Friends or Elementary Friends.

Because of limited personnel resources, Eugene Friends Meeting has asked each member meeting and worship group to provide a representative to an interim committee for:

  1. Recruiting a WQM Ministry and Oversight Committee;
  2. Recruiting a WQM Planning Committee;
  3. Considering realistic expectations and protocols for post-pandemic WQM sessions.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other Quakers in the larger WQM community. Please contact Laura Arcidiacono, if you would like to know more about WQM or are interested in this opportunity to serve.

This session of WQM runs from Friday, May 19 at 4:00 pm through Sunday, May 21 at 2:00 pm. Location: Camp Arrah Wanna – is in a forest near Welches and Wemme, off of route 26 as it starts up toward Mt. Hood.  The camp has both outdoor recreation spaces and a gym.  There are a variety of sleeping accommodations, including a few motel-style rooms.  Junior Friends will have their own cabin.  Camping in tents or RVs (no hookups) is permitted.  All six meals will be camp provided.  Cost:  Adults – pay as you are lead.  Children under age 18 are fee waivered.

Covid considerations:

  • Vaccinations are strongly encouraged but not required.
  • Masking is at one’s discretion.
  • Food will be served by masked and gloved camp staff.
  • Some outdoor dining tables will be provided.

What to bring:  Flashlights, Friends Hymnals, Rise Up songbooks, sleeping bags or bedding and pillows, towels, water bottle, and appropriate outdoor clothing.  There are paved roads and paths between the buildings we will use.  If you are assigned to a motel-type room, bedding will not be required.
