Our former member, Gayle Matson will be co-facilitating this event on Zoom.  See the invitation below.

On Thursday, August 25, from 7 – 8:30 pm Eastern, (4 to 6:30 Pacific time) please join Quaker Earthcare Witness for an experiential workshop, Ecological Grief: Engaging with the Emotional Impacts of Climate Change

Ecological grief is all around us, whether we recognize it or not, we all carry it with us. This workshop will be an introduction to the phenomenon of ecological-grief—what it is, how to engage with it, and why it’s important. We’ll explore those tender places in our own hearts where ecological grief dwells and offer them sacred attention.

Hayley Hathaway, director of Quaker Earthcare Witness will be facilitating alongside Gayle Matson from Chico Friends Meeting in California. Gayle wrote a beautiful reflection for Befriending Creation on her grief process, which you can read here.

Engaging in these feelings with a spiritual community supports resiliency and helps us be more deeply attuned to the actions we are called to take as Friends.
