Please come to observe Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on October 31 at 3 p.m. in the garden of Laura Arcidiacono’s home. Although the actual holiday is November 1-2, we think it would be best for the Meeting to gather on a First Day.
Bridge City Friends have had a tradition of gathering on this day to honor our dead, celebrate their lives, and share our ancestors with others in the Meeting. In addition to a time mourning, this celebration can take a humorous tone, with the sharing funny stories and memories.
Please bring a photograph, perhaps your loved one’s favorite food or drink, and a story to share. It’s been a while since we did this, but it would be good to observe this holiday together. For more information on how this holiday is celebrated around the world, see https://en.wikipedia.org/
