Are you interested in reading books about racism and discussing them?

Our overall plan is to provide a place for people to discuss books on racism so we can learn more about the issue and ourselves and help heal ourselves and our country.

Our first meeting will be on Martin Luther King Day, January 18, 2021 in the evening at 7 pm on Zoom.   Our first book will be “My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and at the Pathway to Mending our Hearts and Bodies”  by Resmaa Menakem.  Please read through the first section or chapter before the meeting

The book has received excellent reviews.  It’s available at the library and you will need to get on the waiting list as soon as you can.  We have some time before our first meeting.  Sidne Lewis, our Librarian, will purchase one copy which can be shared.  Of course you could always purchase a copy.

There are many good books available and we are open to suggestions for the next book.  We hope this will be a good time for people to meet.  If it is not, please let us know.
