Claire Hannapel (she/her) will join Bridge City Friends on May 5th for worship and a brief presentation. Claire works with the American Friends Service Committee and is a young adult Friend. She will share updates from the AFSC’s humanitarian relief efforts and advocacy for a ceasefire and lasting peace in Palestine. Cynthia Gilliam of Multnomah Friends will also join to share about local Quakers involvement in the AFSC’s Apartheid-Free Campaign.

Here are some additional resources she recommends Friends review to put this conversation in context:

  • 5 things you need to know about what’s happening in Israel and Gaza
  • AFSC’s Friday Action Hour for peace advocacy
  • How to talk with family and friends about the situation in Israel and Palestine
  • Why AFSC uses the term ‘Israeli apartheid’
